User Ranks#

User ranks are a title and optionally a graphic that users can receive depending on previously defined criteria. This allows you to allow users in your community to move up in rank as activity increases and to obtain a higher title. Ranks can also be used to create special titles for selected users (such as moderators). The user rank is displayed in a user's profile and in their content.

Manage User Ranks#

The user rank management can be found in the admin panel under Users → User Ranks → User Ranks. There you can manage the existing user ranks and create your own user ranks if required.

Create User Ranks#

To create a user rank go to Users → User Ranks → User Ranks in the admin panel and click on the button Add User Rank.

The following input fields are available when creating a user rank:

Field Name Description
Title Enter the title for the user rank.
CSS Class Name Select a presentation for the title.
Rank Image Optionally, you can specify an image file to be displayed as a graphic for this user rank.
Repeat User Image Specify how often the graphic should be displayed.
Hide title Determines whether the title of this user rank should be hidden and only the graphic displayed instead.
User Group Select for which user group this rank is available. By selecting the user group Users the rank is available to all users.
Gender Specify whether the user rank should be dependent on the gender of the user.
Points Specify the number of activity points a user must achieve before he or she can reach this rank. A user can earn activity points by creating content - for example, by posting in forums (default is 5 activity points per post).

Determination of the User Rank#

A user can only have one user rank at a time. If several user ranks are possible for a user, for example, because the user is a member of several user groups, the user rank of the user group with the highest priority is preferred. The prioritization can be defined per user group via the user group management. For the most important user groups (e.g. administrators), it is therefore recommended to set a correspondingly high value for the prioritization.
